PREPARE YOUR HEARTS TO FAST AND PRAY
MONDAY | 01.06.25
READING: Genesis 11 & 12, Psalms 4, Matthew 6
Genesis 12:1 (ESV):
“12 Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.”
As we enter the fast God is calling us away from what is familiar, He is asking us to go deeper with Him, to listen for His voice, and to follow Him wherever He takes us.
Prepare your heart during these twenty-one (21) days to receive from God. Make a decision to follow where He leads and to obey what He asks of you during these twenty-one (21) days.
PRAYER: God wherever you lead I will follow; show me the new spiritual place you want to take me this month.

ALIGNING YOUR HEART WITH THE FATHER’S WILL
READING: Genesis 13 & 14, Proverbs 3, Matthew 7
Matthew 7:21 (ESV):
“21 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
Today we focus our hearts on coming into agreement with God’s will, we lay down our will, our wants, and our desires to do God’s will.
PRAYER: Father, show me anything that is out of sync with your will for my life, sin, desires, relationships, or resources. I will do your will.

INCREASE OUR FAITH
READING: Genesis 15 & 16, Proverbs 4, Matthew 8
Matthew 8:10 (ESV):
“10 When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith.”
The faith of the centurion impressed Jesus. In the book of Hebrews, it says without faith it’s impossible to please God. Jesus said, “if we have faith, we can say to this mountain be removed and cast it into the sea.” The Bible says we can increase our faith, faith to believe for the impossible, for miracles, and our daily bread.
PRAYER: Ask God to increase your faith during this prayer and fasting season. What are the impossible things God is asking you to believe Him for?

PRAY FOR THE HARVEST AND WORKERS
READING: Genesis 17 & 18, Psalms 5, Matthew 9
Matthew 9:37–38 (ESV):
“37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
There is a harvest of souls ready to come into the Kingdom of God. God has chosen to partner with people to see that harvest come in. Paul says in Romans 10:14 “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?”
We are to go into all the world and make disciples. Pray for workers in the harvest and pray that God would put a burden for the lost in your heart.
PRAYER: Father, we pray that you will send the workers into the field to reap the harvest. Father, stir my heart, stir my heart for the lost, for the hurting, for my neighbor, and for all those who don’t know you. I pray I will answer the call to share my faith with others.

PERSECUTION
READING: Genesis 19 & 20, Psalms 6, Matthew 10
Matthew 10:22 (ESV)
“22 and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
Persecution for the believer is inevitable. Hopefully our lives will not be asked of us, but we should be prepared for persecution in the public square and on social media. We will be misunderstood by many, called old fashioned and intolerant for our beliefs in the Bible. Jesus says it comes with being a follower of Him. Open Door International estimates that five-thousand (5000) Christians were killed for their faith in 2024 around the world. We need to pray for the persecuted Church in Iran, Africa, North Korea, and many more. We also need to pray that we would stand strong and unwavering for our love and dedication to Jesus in the face of persecution.
PRAYER: Jesus, we pray for those believers around the world who are facing persecution, we pray for their safety and protection. We pray in the face of danger that they would stand strong; that you would give them boldness to speak your Word. Father, also give us boldness to declare your Word and to stand strong as we see the Christian faith is under attack, we pray the light of Christ would overcome the darkness.

OBEDIENCE
READING: Genesis 21 & 22, Proverbs 5, Matthew 11
Genesis 24:27 (ESV):
“27 and said, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his steadfast love and his faithfulness toward my master. As for me, the Lord has led me in the way to the house of my master’s kinsmen.”
God’s divine guidance led Abraham’s servant to find a wife for His son. There are no coincidences in God’s kingdom. He leads us and guides us every day. Are we listening and following Him? Pray today for divine guidance, for supernatural connections, and for clarity on our next steps.
Psalm 119:105 (ESV): “105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
PRAYER: Holy Spirit lead me today and lead me all throughout this year. I pray I hear your voice clearly. Lead me to the right people, I pray for God encounters. Lead me away from harm and keep me in your peace.

GOD’S WORD OVER YOUR CHILDREN
READING: Genesis 25 & 26, Psalms 7, Matthew 13
Genesis 25:22–23 (ESV)
“22 The children struggled together within her, and she said, “If it is thus, why is this happening to me?” So, she went to inquire of the Lord. 23 And the Lord said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the older shall serve the younger.”
Rebekah was pregnant with twins and there seemed to be a battle going on in her womb and the bible says she went to God about it. God spoke a prophesy to her about her children. The boys represented two nations; and the older shall serve the younger. This word from the Lord help Rebekah understand God’s plan and even the battle between the two as they grew up. God has a plan and destiny over our children. As parents and grandparents, we have the responsibility to inquire of the Lord, hear his heart for our kids and then pray into that plan. We speak the blessing and purposes of God over them. What is God saying today over your children or grandchildren. How can you be praying for them?
PRAYER: Holy Spirit show me your love and destiny over my children, show me what to pray and how to pray for them.

SUPERNATURAL PROVISION
TUESDAY | 01.14.25
READING: Genesis 27 & 28, Psalms 8, Matthew 14
Matthew 14:17–20 (ESV)
“17 They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” 18 And he said, “Bring them here to me.” 19 Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 20 And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over.”
God is the source of our provision. It’s not our jobs, investments, or people. God uses those as ways to take care of us but ultimately, He is our source. When we tithe, we are declaring that with our money. God gave this to me, and I choose to give back a tithe (10%) to honor Him for his provision in my life. I trust Him with my finances. God takes the little we have and multiples it so there is more than enough left over. What are you believing God for this year? Where do you need His provision?
PRAYER: God you are my daily bread I trust you with my finances and I ask for supernatural heavenly provision for my life.

PURITY OF HEART
WEDNESDAY | 01.15.25
READING: Genesis 29 & 30, Proverbs 7, Matthew 15
Matthew 15:8–9 (ESV)
“8 This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”
Jesus confronts the Pharisees for their hypocrisy, saying they love God, but their actions did not display God’s love. If we are honest, we all have a little Pharisee in us. God calls us to examine our hearts constantly, David says in the psalms.
Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV): “23 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”
This should be a constant prayer for us and especially during times of fasting and prayer. A pure heart means an undivided heart, we are not serving God and our own interest at the same time. Take some time today and ask the Holy Spirit if there is any place where I have an undivided heart. Search my heart Lord.
PRAYER: Father, I pray as David prayed, search my heart. Show me anything that offends you, any hypocritical thinking, anything I need to repent of and make right.

WHO IS JESUS TO YOU?
THURSDAY | 01.16.25
READING: Genesis 31 & 32, Proverbs 8, Matthew 16
Matthew 16:13 (ESV)
“13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”
We know that the Father revealed to Peter who Jesus was and is and he confessed Jesus as the Son of the Living God. Every person will be confronted with this question, “Who is Jesus to you?” Many times, we can confess Him as Savior but not confess Him as Lord over every area of our life. Does He reign over your family, your marriage, your finances, you job, your personal life? Is He the center of your being and every decision flows through His Lordship in your life?
PRAYER: Jesus, I confess you are the Lord of my life, come rule and reign over every part of me today. I release control and ask you to be the Lord over my life, my family, my finances, my business, and my future.

RECONCILIATION
FRIDAY | 01.17.25
READING: Genesis 33 & 34, Psalms 9, Matthew 17
Genesis 33:4 (ESV)
“ 4 But Esau ran to meet him and embraced him and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.”
The brothers Jacob and Esau had not seen each other in about twenty (20) years. Their last interaction was Jacob fleeing the land because Esau was going to kill him. Here twenty (20) years later there is a reconciliation. God cares deeply about our right relationships with others. Jesus says if you are at the altar and you remember someone has something against you, stop right there and go make it right. Ask the Holy Spirit today, “is there anyone I need to forgive, is there anyone I need to make things right with today?”
PRAYER: Father, as you have forgiven me for so much, I also need to forgive those who have wronged me. I forgive ____________. Father, if there is something I need to do today to make things right with this person show me and I will obey.

PUT AWAY THE IDOLS
SATURDAY | 01.18.25
READING: Genesis 35 & 36, Psalms 10, Matthew 18
Genesis 35:1–3 (ESV)
“God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there. Make an altar there to the God who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.” 2 So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you and purify yourselves and change your garments. 3 Then let us arise and go up to Bethel, so that I may make there an altar to the God who answers me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone.”
An idol is anything that is more important than God. The word “worship” is derived from the old English word “Worth-Ship”. Meaning whatever we give more worth to, we can worship. Anything we give more worth to other than God we worship and it becomes an idol. This can be money, career, sports, fame, people, a habit, convenience, even food. Fasting has a way of exposing these things in our lives, things that are more important than they should be. Ask the Lord, Is there anything I’ve made into an idol, is there anything more important to me than serving and honoring you?”
PRAYER: Father what has become too important to me other than you? What things need to be stripped away so I can love you and serve you better? I will have no other Gods before You

WHAT’S HOLDING YOU BACK?
SUNDAY | 01.19.25
READING: Genesis 37, 38, 39, Proverbs 9, Matthew 19
Matthew 19:21–22 (ESV)
“21 Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.”
What’s holding you back from going all in with Jesus? Usually when you talk to someone who is struggling to give their heart to Jesus it’s not a long list of things that’s keeping them from this decision, it’s usually one thing God is asking of them. As we walk with the Lord, we will have many things the Holy Spirit points out to us, but usually it’s just one area of obedience where we get stuck. It could be forgive this person, give this away, let go of this relationship, give that sin up, or even get up early and lose sleep to spend time with Him. What is the one thing today that God is asking you to give up so you can take the next step in your relationship?
PRAYER: Father show me what is holding me back from serving you with my whole heart. I will listen and obey what you ask of me.

RESURRECTION
MONDAY | 01.20.25
READING: Genesis 40 & 41, Proverbs 10, Matthew 20
Genesis 41:39–40 (ESV)
“39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise as you are. 40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you.”
God gave Joseph a dream twenty-two (22) years earlier; that he would be a ruler. In those twenty-two (22) years he was hated by his brothers, sold in slavery, and then falsely accused and thrown in jail. It seemed God had forgotten him, and the dream was a distant memory. In one day, God resurrected that dream. In one day, everything changed. What is the dream that God wants to resurrect in you? Joseph wasn’t passively waiting. He was faithful, a good steward, stepped into leadership wherever he was, and was using his spiritual discernment to help others. God saw his faithfulness and resurrected that dream. What are the things you need to be faithful with and a good steward with today that God has given you?
PRAYER: Father, I haven’t forgotten the dream you planted in me, and I know you haven’t forgotten it either. Resurrect this God dream in me and show me how to be a good steward and faithful in the little things now, so I can be trusted with greater things. Not my will, but Your will be done.

HOUSE OF PRAYER
TUESDAY | 01.21.25
READING: Genesis 42 & 43, Psalms 11, Matthew 21
Matthew 21:12–13 (ESV)
“12 And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 13 He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.”
Jesus cleared the temple of the money changers and dishonest dealings going on. He then makes the declaration that “my house shall be called a house of prayer”. This is a great picture of our lives. As followers of Christ, we become the temple of God, the Holy Spirit takes residence in every born-again believer. Today, what are the things Jesus needs to clear out of our temple? What are the things that don’t belong? Are we a house of prayer and place of communion with the Holy Spirit?
PRAYER: Jesus clear out things in my heart that don’t belong and anything that is offensive to you. I consecrate my life as a house of prayer, a place where the Holy Spirit dwells. Holy Spirit show me anything that has grieved you and I repent. May my life be a sweet-smelling incense to your throne.

LOVE GOD AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR
WEDNESDAY | 01.22.25
READING: Genesis 44 & 45, Psalms 12, Matthew 22
Matthew 22:35–40 (ESV)
“35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
All of the Bible can be summed up in these two ideas; Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. How can we love God with all our heart, soul, and mind? It’s love in action. It’s not just saying that we love God it’s showing that we love God. One of the ways is by loving our neighbor. Loving the people God has put in our lives, our family, our physical neighbors, our co-workers, and friends. Ask God today, “How can I love you more with my whole heart, soul, and mind? How can I love my neighbor? A great question to ask is, “Father, What is one thing I can do today to show my love and honor to this person?
PRAYER: Jesus, I love you with all my being. Help me to love you more, help me return to my first love, you Jesus. Father, what can I do today to show love to ___________________. What areas am I not being loving? Give me supernatural love for those around me, help me to prefer others over myself.

HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER
THURSDAY | 01.23.25
READING: Genesis 46 & 47, Proverbs 11, Matthew 23
Genesis 47:11–12 (ESV)
“Then Joseph settled his father and his brothers and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded. 12 And Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all his father's household with food, according to the number of their dependents.”
Joseph reveals himself to his brothers as the second in command of Egypt. He goes to meet his father whom he hasn’t seen in twenty-two (22) years now. He arranges for land to be given to his father, brothers and their families to live in and he takes care of all their needs. Then he asks his father to bless his children Ephraim and Manasseh. Joseph honored his father. This is one of the ten (10) commandments, to honor parents. We do this by showing them respect, speaking well of them, spending time with them, listening to their advice, forgiving them, and caring for them. Also, if we are still in their house under their authority we obey them. Ephesians 6:2–3 (ESV) “2 Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” How can you honor your parents today? If your parents are no longer alive, what spiritual father or mother can you honor?
PRAYER: Father, I choose this day to honor those who you have put in authority over me. I realize no one is perfect so I forgive. I do whatever I can, to bring honor to my parents, grandparents, and spiritual authority. Bless them today.

SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS
FRIDAY | 01.24.25
READING: Genesis 48 & 49, Proverbs 12, Matthew 24
Genesis 49:28 (ESV)
“All these are the twelve tribes of Israel. This is what their father said to them as he blessed them, blessing each with the blessing suitable to him.”
At the end of his life Jacob spoke a blessing over each son. The priest would speak a blessing over Israel called the Aaronic blessing,
Numbers 6:24–26 (ESV): “The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”
Blessing is a positive, faith-filled vision spoken in accord with God’s Word over someone’s life. Jesus says to bless those who curse you. There is spiritual power in speaking blessings over others. It fills them with faith, and it helps position your heart in alignment with God’s heart over that person. Who can you speak a blessing over today?
PRAYER: Father, I bless _____________. I pray God’s peace, prosperity, protection, and joy over their life in Jesus’ name.

STEWARDSHIP
SATURDAY | 01.25.25
READING: Genesis 50, Exodus 1, Psalms 13, Matthew 25
Matthew 25:21 (ESV)
“21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
God has given each one of us gifts and resources we are responsible for stewarding. He has given us talents, skills, finances, callings, and people. We will not be judged according to how big our ministry is or how big our impact was or even compared to what others accomplished. We will be judged on what we did with what God gave us. Did we take our talents and bury it in the ground? Or did we invest it? What are the things in your life that you are stewarding well and what things are you not stewarding well? As we near the end of the fast I’m sure God has spoken to you about a few things. What will you do with what He has asked you to do, the prophetic words spoken to you?
PRAYER: Father, I want to hear at the end of my life “well done good and faithful servant”. Show me the areas where I am not being a good steward of the resources you have given me. Show me how to invest the amazing gifts you have given me to see a return for the Kingdom of God.
D A Y 21
WORSHIP
SUNDAY | 01.26.25
READING: Exodus 2 & 3, Psalm 14, Matthew 26
Matthew 26:7–13 (ESV)
“7 a woman came up to him with an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at table. 8 And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? 9 For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor.” 10 But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. 11 For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. 12 In pouring this ointment on my body, she has done it to prepare me for burial. 13 Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”
What does it look like to worship Jesus extravagantly? Mary shows us a glimpse of that kind of worship. Worship that cost us something, worship that is unashamed to go public, worship that pours out our whole heart unto the Lord. On this last day of the fast, as we worship together in church, be extravagant. I pray we can be like King David who danced before the Lord and said I will be even more undignified than this. Let’s finish this fast with praise and worship to the Lord, let’s be extravagant in our worship today.
PRAYER: Here’s my everything to you Jesus, I pour out my heart and soul, you deserve it all!
